Mike Gaumond
Chief Executive Officer
From a leader at a B2B version of eBay to streaming digital radio via your cell phone, Mike is a revolutionary who knows how to rock a business plan. He joined beamz Interactive, a Scottsdale-based startup which introduced the beamz laser music system, as Chief Executive Officer in May 2007. The innovative company presented a formidable opportunity - marrying Mike's Fortune 500 strategic leadership and entrepreneurial spirit with his significant consumer products and technology experience - that was music to his ears.
Having spent 10 years at Motorola, most recently as Vice President & General Manager of Global Media Solutions, where he developed the business plan; Mike obtained funding, developed end-to-end mobile music solutions; negotiated complex music rights agreements and successfully launched the iRadio digital music service.
He also served in a variety of general management roles including Vice President, Product Operations & Business Development, for Motorola's cell phone business, Vice President of High Tech Markets for NerveWire, Inc. and Vice President & General Manager of Motorola's Market Solutions Division. Mike also led strategy & business development for Motorola's Government & Enterprise Mobility business and was a principal with CSC-Index, a management consultancy specializing in strategy & reengineering.
Prior to earning a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis where he was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and received the City Business 1988 Top MBA Award, Mike spent six years in software development & program management at Sperry (Unisys). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
With a deep passion to make a positive contribution within his community, Mike is member of the board of directors for Big Brothers, Big Sisters Arizona and for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Arizona.
